Explosion Proof Scales and Flammable Area Scales

C1D1 Explosion Proof Scales

The National Fire Protection Agency uses Classes, Divisions, and Groups to indicate the presence of hazards in industrial and commercial environments. Classes signify the type of hazard (e.g. Class 1 scales are suited for flammable vapors & gasses), while Divisions indicate how often they’re present.

The explosion-proof balances at Arlyn Scales are rated for several classes and divisions of hazardous areas. Class 1, Division 1, or C1D1 scales are rated for environments in which explosive or flammable gases, liquids, or vapors occur as part of normal operations.

Our line of Intrinsically Safe Floor Scales and Intrinsically Safe Platform Scales, for example, are ideal industrial scales for enduring C1D1 conditions. Even better, both lines can be modified into Intrinsically Safe Drum Scales if you require a durable C1D1 drum scale.

C1D2 Scales

Recall that C1D1 scales are safe for use when hazards are present during normal operating conditions.

Alternatively, C1D2 scales are intended for use in operations where hazards are only present under unusual conditions.

These abnormal conditions may include system failures, or ruptures and leaks in containers.

Intrinsically Safe Scales and Fire Rated Scales

Our intrinsically safe scales are appropriate for use in many industrial environments that have flammable or explosive fumes and liquids and high concentrations of dust. Meanwhile, our Intrinsically Safe Bench Scales are perfect for distillery labs and workshops.

These explosion-proof scales are easy to use with a large LCD digital display on a stainless steel swivel mount. The load cells on these scales are made from heat-treated stainless steel alloy, so they are very rugged, and the platform can handle large loads.

Intrinsically Safe Chlorine Ton Scales

Arlyn Scales is also the manufacturer of the industry’s first and only Intrinsically Safe Chlorine Ton Scale. Chlorine is an extremely dangerous gas to work with, and its levels need to be monitored closely to prevent accidents and health and safety hazards.

The ArlynGuard T is a reliable chlorine ton scale constructed from stainless steel to reduce corrosion and provide a longer life. This scale applies weight to four intrinsically safe, heat-treated, and abuse-resistant load cells for accuracy that is up to five times better than standard ton scales.

Intrinsically Safe Ultra Precision Scales

We recently introduced the new ArlynGuard S line of approved Intrinsically Safe Ultra Precision Scales using Surface Acoustic Wave (or SAW) Technology. These scales offer 10 times the accuracy of a regular strain gauge, bringing you better precision at a more affordable price.

With a resolution of 1:100,000, ArlynGuard S scales are perfect for applications involving explosive, flammable, and other hazardous conditions. While these scales include a rechargeable battery supply, they can also be configured for AC Powered Systems with a Safety Barrier.

Corrosion Resistant Scales

If you work with corrosive materials, then you need a corrosion-resistant scale. Corrosion Resistant Scales from Arlyn Scales feature 3-part polyamine epoxy-coated stainless steel for exceptional durability and resistance to corrosive materials.

This chemical scale is a must-have for industries working with ammonia, sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, chlorine, hydrogen, brine, etc. Spills and fumes can destroy a regular scale, but you will get years of quality service out of our Corrosion Resistant Scales.
