MKE-5 Digital Scale Basics
The digital scale indicator is a 32 bit RISC high resolution programmable unit. It has a very simple setup and a simple menu driven interface. It allows the user to configure the display to show multiple readings like description, weight, tare information, etc. Information can be entered numerically or as text via the 0 Ð 9 numeric keypad for set points, descriptions for parts counting, and creating layouts for printed labels. It has more than 100 memory locations where you can store tare and parts counting readings. The scale indicator also calibrates itself automatically, which is an added advantage over our competitors scales. The unit is enclosed in a water resistant shock absorbent plastic casing. It comes with a mount that allows the indicator to be placed on a wall or a bench top. We also offer a stainless steel indicator housing if applicable.
Target Weight Controller
We can provide you with an optional set point controller to interface with the MKE-5. This allows you to set up to 8 target weights at a time. Once the target weight is reached, the indicator can send an electronic signal to turn equipment, such as a feeder, all via a solid state relay. Generally, the target weight should be a little below the desired weight value to account for trickle as the filling equipment shuts off. You will also be able to save your weight values in the scale memory for later access. This valuable option can help you increase efficiency and speed during filling operations and formulation. By automating this process, you will be able to devote personnel to more complex tasks.
Access Your Scale from Anywhere
Your scale may be monitoring a specific filling operation, but, if you select our optional Ethernet module, weight monitoring and control of the scale does not have to happen in the same locations. With a Wi-Fi connection or an Ethernet network, you can use our Remote Indicator software on a Windows based PC or laptop to view the scale display and export weight data onto your PC or laptop. Once you have the data, you can view it in MS Access or MS Excel. The module will also allow you to control the scale via your computer. Commands can be sent to the indicator’s front panel switch for tare, net and gross weight, units of measurement, etc.
PC and Laptop Control Onsite
Thanks to the development of inexpensive USB connectivity, you will be able to view your scale indicator on your PC or laptop. By simply using a USB cable to interface with the MKE-5, you use our optional Windows Interface Software to view and control the scale. This will also allow you to export weight data onto a computer so that you can analyze the data in Microsoft Excel and Access.
USB Flash Drive Downloading
Should you need to quickly get your weight data from the indicator, you will be able to do so with the use of a USB flash drive. Connect it to the data logging port in the MKE-5 and you can initiate the download. Once the data has been exported to the USB flash drive, you will be able to view it on your PC or laptop via an application that is compatible with a CSV formatted file.
