Sealant companies have a tough job when it comes to accurately weighing and managing the variety of materials that go into the process of manufacturing sealants. These materials are often handled at high temperatures, which can be detrimental for certain industrial scales. In addition, the materials used in the sealant manufacturing process can include certain prepolymers and other adhesives which can cause damage to scales that are not built to handle these types of materials.
When deciding to purchase an industrial platform scale to be used in the sealant manufacturing process, it’s important to understand exactly how the scale is going to be used as well as the type of materials that will come into contact with the various scale components.
Trust Arlyn Scales for All Your Industrial Platform Scale Needs
At Arlyn Scales, we’ve helped a variety of sealant manufacturers streamline their manufacturing processes in a variety of different ways. This experience is largely due to our extensive industry knowledge. We’ve been designing and manufacturing scales for more than 30 years. This detailed industry knowledge has allowed us to develop a strong business in the industry without relying on a complex distributor network.
Arlyn Scales is headquartered in Long Island, New York where not only all of our scales are designed, but where they’re manufactured as well. Our Long Island factory is a hub where both our design and manufacturing teams work together to produce the highest quality scales possible, at the most competitive prices possible.
Because we’re both based in the US, and also manufacture all of our products in-house, we’re able to sell factory direct to our customers. This factory direct approach is extremely beneficial for a variety of reasons, a few of which include:
- Highly competitive pricing – While quality is always important when it comes to purchasing an industrial scale, price is equally vital as well. With our factory direct approach, we’re able to keep our costs low, without sacrificing when it comes to either scale features or the quality of materials that we use.
- No distributor arrangements – Many scale manufacturers will have a team of distributors that cover certain territories. While this approach may work for some companies, we’ve found that working directly with our customers and eliminating distributors as a whole has been what’s best for the growth of our organization.
- Expert level of customer service – Another benefit of a factory direct business model lies in the level of customer service that we’re able to provide. Every employee that works for Arlyn Scales is an expert in his or her field, which allows for our customers to quickly get answers to their questions, regardless of how complicated they may be. This level of customer service is difficult to match with a typical arrangement where you have a manufacturing company that is separate from the distributor network, which is in turn separate from the product design team.
Vital Features of our Industrial Platform Scales for Sealant Manufacturers
There are a variety of scale features that are vital for sealant manufacturers. These features relate both to how the scales themselves are built, as well as to certain features that can make the formulation of sealants much easier. Below are just a few of the ways our industrial platform scales can be of great benefit to sealant manufacturers.
Set Point Controller
An optional feature on our most popular Series 3200 Platform Scales is our set point controller. Our set point controller allows for simple batching and PLC functions, which can be used to not only turn equipment on and off, but also to control the flow of materials used in chemical formulations such as the sealant manufacturing process. Mixers, feeders, motors, solenoids, valves and other devices can all be controlled via solid state relays that are controlled by set point outputs. Using the setup menu on our platform scale you’ll be able to input and store formulas that control the output lines based on the weight that’s being applied to the scale platform itself. In addition, using the scale’s memory you’ll be able to store up to eight target weights that can be used to control equipment at any time.
Stainless Steel Load Cells
Another key component of any industrial scale is the load cell. Many scale manufacturers will manufacture their load cells from inferior materials to cut costs. Because load cells are recessed under the scale platform, they’re often out of sight, and thus manufacturers can get by with using these inferior materials in certain cases. At Arlyn Scales, all of our industrial platform scales feature stainless steel load cells. This helps to add an additional layer of durability to our scales that will ensure they can stand up to the rigors of certain industrial environments.
Another important factor to keep in mind when purchasing one of our industrial scales, is that our platform scales feature four stainless steel load cells as opposed to just one. These four load cells are recessed in the corners under the scale platform, which allows for additional accuracy and increased durability and abuse resistance which is common in most industrial applications.
Variety of Scale Materials Depending on Your Needs
Our most cost effective industrial platform scales feature aluminum scale platforms, but if you’re looking for additional durability and flexibility, we also offer full stainless steel construction as well. These stainless steel platform scales offer additional protection against corrosion as well as other harsh chemicals which are common in sealant manufacturing.
Should you want additional protection for your scale platform, we also offer a number of coatings that can further protect your scale from rust and corrosion.
